The Hockessin Montessori School has made changes to our procedures, classrooms, and campus to provide a safe environment for our students and staff.
Weekly Testing Option at HMSIn partnership with the Delaware Department of Health and Quidel, The Hockessin Montessori School is offering COVID-19 testing. We recommend everyone pre-register through Primary Health’s platform:
This link is specifically for our school’s students and staff. This registration will take no longer than 5 minutes and is only done one time!
Here is a little more about the testing program and process:
• Weekly Testing will be Thursdays at 9:00am (beginning this Thursday, 11/18). • This service is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL, it is not required but highly recommended. It is free of cost to you so no insurance information is needed, or will you ever be asked to pay for these tests. • All children Toddler through 8th grade can register. • Testing will primarily be done through self-swabbing and monitored by medical staff on-site, school staff will not be doing the testing, but will be present with the students. Parents may not be present for testing. • The test being used for this program is the Quidel QuickVue. For more information on the test, please read the fact sheet here: Quidel QuickVue Fact Sheet. • Results and communication will be shared electronically to the email and contact information used for registration. Results are primarily shared every 15-30 minutes. • If your child tests positive, the school will contact you directly. When completing the registration form, • Participant Screening Section –choose “PK” for students in the Toddler and Children’s House programs. HMS Staff choose “Unknown.” • Choose 1 for Classroom number.
• Location: Choose “The Hockessin Montessori School”
Test to StayStarting January 6th, The Hockessin Montessori School will also provide testing for students in Children’s House through Middle School who may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 and have been instructed to quarantine through a new Test to Stay program.
This Test to Stay program is offered as an adjunct to our current COVID-19 In-School Testing program and is available for all children vaccinated and not vaccinated. To be eligible for the Test to Stay program, students will first need to be signed up in our current In-School Testing program. Test to Stay, which follows DPH guidance, would allow a student to attend school even if they have been exposed to COVID-19 as long as they meet the following these criteria: • They show no symptoms • They correctly wear a mask indoors when at school (hence, the reason students enrolled in our Toddler Program are not eligible) • They continue to quarantine when not at school • They test negative daily (during the school week) as part of the Test to Stay program If you have already registered your child for the weekly Quidel testing, but did not opt into the Test to Stay program, you can still enroll in the TTS program. Use our school’s link to register for Quidel testing again (click here), but this time you will use the toggle switch to choose “yes” for Test to Stay as this option is now available on the online form. You will then be prompted to select the school district (choose Red Clay as this is the district where HMS is located) and then choose the testing site you prefer for your family. ![]() ![]() |
