The Hockessin Montessori School

I've had a child or children at HMS for the last 6 years.  And, every year when I receive the contracts from school, I ponder for a moment and think about all that HMS has given my family.  My children are confident, curious and love to learn.  My children have moved beyond Children's House and are anxious to arrive at school each weekday morning.  I notice that my kids find school exciting and remain to be challenged on a daily basis.  They've made lasting friendships and have soared academically.  In these tough economic times, it can be a difficult decision to invest in a private education.  I remain confident that entrusting my children's education to HMS is the right decision.

We searched several schools but in comparison we didn't feel right sending our son anywhere else than The Hockessin Montessori School.  The staff and facility is very warm and inviting and we've been very happy with our choice. 

The difference in our children was amazing; they quickly learned to love their school, teachers and friends.  Our son's progress the first year was phenomenal; it was a joy to see the difference in his ability, knowledge, demeanor and character.  It was astonishing to see him do things he had never done before.  One day he simple came home and wrote his name, another day he was reading, it seemed to happen overnight.  I could go on and on about the transformation in him and his self confidence; the school and staff do such a remarkable job with the children. 

Like most parents, we couldn't help but to compare our children and their progress.  We noticed a considerable difference in our daughter's language ability and discussed our concerns during the first parent teacher conference.  The teacher's reply confirmed our suspicions; we found her proactive undertaking to be helpful with our daughter's speech delay.  Her teacher provided us information on possible treatment, suggested an evaluation and wrote a letter to our health care provider.  All of which were greatly appreciated and we're happy to say our daughter is doing well.  We can't say enough good things about the school and staff!
